uring a staff meeting outside of Boulder, Marshall Shapiro was harassed (in a kidding way), that he was a certifiable, card carrying, tree hugging, sticks and twigs eating Boulderite. Realizing that he did not in fact have a certificate or a card establishing his Boulder credentials he began looking for online resources to meet this need.

Thinking that there must be other Republic of Boulder residents enduring similar admonishments, he realized that a fun, entertaining, educational web site that also tests and certifies applicants was sorely needed.

Mr. Shapiro's company (Common Sense, Inc) secured the proper licensing in 1989 and began provided custom software solutions to a wide variety of local, state and national businesses. Mr. Shapiro is in the unique position of having extensive software development skills and firsthand knowledge of Boulder’s unique culture. With this experience he has now launched this website serving the local, neglected market for certifying Boulder residents (and any other estranged Boulder enthusiasts) of their knowledge and participation in Boulder history, folk lore and traditions. 

This interactive, educational/certification service will help serve the needs of Republic of Boulder residents (and residents in Diaspora), and provide all the conveniences of instant online availability.
